What’s the biggest difference between Paypal/Google Checkout and a private merchant account?

I’m looking for a company that can accept credit card orders from my clients and pay it directly to a bank account. We lose sales because people get lost trying to use paypal, they signup, go through tons of garbage then alltogether forget it because it’s too much hastle. So we tried a company like this but they take upwards of a month to get the money to our account. Can anyone recomend something? I’m making the page right now, so I am going to make the front end, so if there’s a system which I can just pass the info to and it can handle the payment that would be awesome.

I just set up a new account on Paypal – but I don’t know the first thing about tax.

Do I have to set up every single state’s sales tax amount? That seems like a lot of work :c(

Also, if I sell something to England or other countries… do I have to set up their sales tax?

Is there a way for Paypal somehow make this easy for me?

i am making a website for someone and he has a paypal account and now he is trying to set up something for business so he can leave a link on his site and be able to order something via paypal or credit card. We started someone and they are going to be leaving a 4 digit code or something on his next bank statement, are we doing the rite thing? if so, once we get it set up, how do you put items on, and does paypal provide u with a link to give the customers the page that you are selling the item on or what?

im wondering if there are any real free merchant accounts i can open that will work with my ebay account besides paypal. they froze my account for no good reason and this has happened b4. ther say they noticed unusual activity in my account but in reality i sold a wii for almost $300 and since i opened the account it was the largest sum of money credited to my account. how is that unuasal acitvity?
