I am planning on creating a website where I will be promoting a product to sell for some other website, do I need a tax id and a business license? I mean, since I am not using any merchant account, just promoting a product from another website.

I don’t have a merchant account but I have a Paypal account. Also what are things I need to have to be fully prepared for these events besides table and chairs?

I have a business checking account, and I have a paypal account, but I’m also wanting to get a gateway. I’ve heard about needing a merchant account as well, but is this in addiction to a checking account? If I do need a merchant account, what are the costs of getting one, and any recommendations as to where to get one?

I want to start an online business so to get merchant accounts, I needed to get an EIN number, so i got one, but haven’t started the business yet. Do i still need to file if i don’t make anything this year?

I have a collection of over 5000 lapel pins. I have been selling them with some success on ebay. I would like to open a web store so I would be able to list most of the with pictures. I want a web store with some kind of merchant account. I have looked at Amazon and Yahoo store fonts, but it seems like the want too big a percent when you sell. Also some other store fronts look good, but they only allow 30 to 100 items or so for the starter store. Any suggestions.

I need a merchant service ASAP! Everything I have researched seems to have hidden fee’s as well as “hidden contracts”. I am only 18 and have no credit so Google Checkout denied me and Paypal closed me down because I mad $1000 my first week… somehow they get to keep it for 180 days??? BUTT WIPES!!! ANywho, I just need a good merchant service which can get me on the up and up and back on business ASAP. I have a family to provide for! Any advice would be considered any help would be appreciated. I recently purchased the licenses to 6 online stores, fully equipped with credit card processors, shopping carts, and merchant accounts. I have already found a product I wish to sell using the first of my 6 websites. However, the distributor needs an EIN before I enter into business with them. What all do I need to get to conduct business legally from my home over the internet? I will be particpating mostly in dropshipping and I am located in Michigan. Is it necessary to form a business and register a DBA?
