I have a couple of hundred in my savings and checking. I own a small boutique that is currently only accepting cash. Could I deposit my money in my personal savings for now until I set up a merchant account along with a business bank account?

I recently purchased an item with my debit card but have not yet seen record of the transaction. A friend of mine purchased an item with a similar card from the same vendor and saw a post to her account immediately. I realize a transaction can take a few days to clear but how long am I required to wait? Is there a time period in which merchants have to submit transactions or not? Similarly, if I write a check that is never cashed, is someone allowed to cash that check years later or is there legal protection for consumers?
There is no record at all on my online statement of a merchant request: no hold, no pending transaction, nothing… this is why I’m curious.

how can i get this funds back whitout hiring a lawyer they holding funds i have no charged backs, need answer?

I have a paypal account, and I am closing my bank account due to the fact that i’m studying abroad for the next semester. If a customer does a chargeback, will paypal try to take the funds out of my closed bank account? what would happen? and could an online merchant obtain your name/address associated with your bank account?

When a merchant runs your check through their machine does it check if you have funds available?……I get paid by direct deposit tonight and the funds will be in to clear the check by midnight but at the time I write the check the funds will not be in the account, does the merchant actually check to see if funds are available when they put your check through their system or do they just check to see if you have bounced checks before?

A clients merchant account was frozen by First Data and is claiming they are freezing his funds and thus can not pay my invoice. Months have gone by, same excuse. Before I simply just take him to court for non-payment how much validity is there in his story? How long can a merchant freeze an account and hold his funds?
