I don’t have a merchant account yet so how can I accept payments online? My customers will be using credit and debit cards.

this one church just got a Merchant Account from Innoative merchant solutions, along with credit card procseeing software and a wireless machine that you slide the credit card through, alot of people say that its a good idea But others (mainly the white people) say its improper WHY IS THIS?

I have a customer that wants to pay with a credit card today but I don’t have a merchant account.
I know PayPal does it if my customer doesn’t want to use paypal then there is nothing I can do about that.

Does anyone know a company that doesn’t take 2-5 days to set up?

I am shopping around to find the best solution to charge my customers (in store) who pay with credit cards, and the cheapest too.
I was looking at Quickbooks credit card processing software, and it seems like a good deal. But do I have to have a merchant account in order to use it?

I didnt see any phone option on a paypal merchant account. Is there an online site that I can just enter the credit card numbers and the total bill, and they can process this for me? For a percentage?

Is it standard to pay a small fee, like .25 per credit card swipe plus the interest fee with all merchant service accounts?

We run a membership based website where we offer a service to our customers. As a token of good faith, we offer a 3 day trial to the customers for a small $4 processing fee to help cover our expenses. After the 3 day trial, we charge $39.99 a month for our services.

We are having issues with our Merchant account. We have customers who 100% HAVE money in their accounts and when we try and run their cards they are declining.

It happens:
10% of the time for new customers
30% of the time when the customer is converting to a “full member”
30% of the time when the customer is a member and they are being charged the monthly fee anytime after the 1st time.

We have had customers go into they’re online banking while on the phone with us and look at their accounts and verify that they have more than $4 in their account.

All are transactions are done over the phone or online. There is never a card present.

What is the reason that so many of our customer’s credit/debit cards are declining?

I have google merchant accounts but everyone has different rates. I just want to make sure I don’t get screwed over.

in the absence of phone service, then run the entire batch when I get home?
