Hi I am setting a new MLM type concept and need to allow members to send money from the UK to the accounts abroad but merchants are too expensive and paypal etc, hate MLM businesses. I have looked at FX companies, etc but there must be a cheaper way for somebody to send and recieve money from abroad without all these ridiculous charges.

I want a merchant account but i hate paypal with all my heart, and i need a good company to handle my transactions but i am unsure what the best option is. All of my transactions will be about a dollar.what is an easy to intergrate, cheap reliable company that would work well with a small business?

I just recently opened a small clothing boutique. I only except cash right now because I am still shopping for a good low cost merchant account. I’ve tried a couple of banks but there all to expensive. Am I going to lose a lot of money doing this?

These people are trying to sell me a credit card account for my new business (EPS Merchants). They said the brand new (however, it’s been sitting in the box for over 2 years) Nurit 8320 terminal that i own is “outdated”–something about needing the latest pci coding…–and they want me to get a “newer” machine from them (same Nurit 8320 model) for $34.99 a month–for 48 months. Wow. On top of this, they want me to SEND them my old one (which I OWN)…?

Supposedly their rates are $10/mo. flat rate, no contract. Plus 1.79% retail credit cards and $0.25 flat fee for all debit cards with pin entered by customer. If pin not used (run debit card as a credit card) then it is 1.49%.

Anyone know if i’m being taken for a ride here?? Thanks in advance…my store’s not even open yet…

I have a business checking account, and I have a paypal account, but I’m also wanting to get a gateway. I’ve heard about needing a merchant account as well, but is this in addiction to a checking account? If I do need a merchant account, what are the costs of getting one, and any recommendations as to where to get one?

The answers are not accurate, being that the majority of the merchant account/payment processors of visa/mc will not process online tobacco sales, which is reason for the question. Searching for a processor who will. Thanks!
